A shooting investigation in the south end of Oshawa yesterday afternoon has led to the arrest of two men, including one from Peterborough.
Durham Regional Police say they responded to reports of an armed person at a home Malaga Road, and when they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Investigators say that the suspect became upset with a female in the residence who was assaulted, and an altercation took place between the suspect and the victim.
Officials say that the suspect then left, returned with a gun, kicked in the door, and shot a male victim.
Police add that there were other occupants in the home, but no one else was hurt.
The shooting victim was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre where he is in stable condition. The female victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. All parties are known to each other.
Witnesses told police that a male suspect fled the scene in a Honda Civic following the shooting.
A short time later police stopped a suspect vehicle in the area of Sinclair Avenue in Oshawa.
Two male occupants fled the vehicle and following a short foot chase, they were stopped. Both males were arrested and charged for various offences.
25 year old Eric Brown of Oshawa is charged with  Aggravated Assault; Break and Enter; Assault; Assault with a Weapon and several firearm and breach probation charges.
Also facing charges is 25 year old John Fagerros of Peterborough, charged with 2 counts Possession of Stolen Property.
Both males were held for bail hearings, and police say that further charges are anticipated.
