Goalie #29 Hunter Jones of the Peterborough Petes
Community members in Cavan-Monaghan are anxiously looking forward to the grand opening of their new community centre.
The centre will officially be opened when the Peterborough Petes host the Niagara Icedogs there in a pre-season game in September.
Deputy Mayor Matthew Graham says final preparations are being made.
Graham adds the township is thrilled to host the game and continue to build a relationship with the Petes.
While the hockey game will be the main event of the day, Graham says it’ll be much more than just a game.
The game goes September 14th, while tickets go on sale August 1st. Proceeds will be donated to both the local minor hockey association in Millbrook and additional funding for the community centre.
