The state of our environment is something that weighs on the minds of many, including Brianna Salmon.
Salmon is the Executive Director at GreenUp here in Peterborough, a local organization that focuses on issues of environmental education and sustainability.
After taking the helm in 2016, Salmon has spearheaded many projects to improve the environment including playing a role in establishing the Ecology Park on Ashburnham Drive.
Prior to becoming the Executive Director, Salmon worked with charities in the Hamilton area and as Greenup’s transportation and urban design department manager.
Volunteer work is also something she is known for, serving on the board of the Trent Community Research Centre, B!KE and the Endeavour Centre of Sustainable Building.
Among her accomplishments, in 2016, Brianna was recognized as one of Peterborough’s “Top 4 Under 40” and in 2017, received Trent University’s Young Leader Award for work supporting a more healthy and active community.
Salmon says she is honoured to be leading GreenUP, and to be furthering the work of this vital organization.
