Thanks to the help of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the OPP, a badly burned camper was safely transported to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre last night.
The OPP requested the assistance of a CH-146 Griffon helicopter from 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron in Trenton to help an injured camper from Shark Lake.
The woman was burned while a cooking stove was being refueled.
The camp site where the woman was at, was not accessible by road, so two Search and Rescue Technicians were lowered to the ground and worked with local emergency services to provide medical attention to the camper prior to transport.
The woman is suffering from serious, but non-life threatening injuries and has since been transferred to a trauma centre for further treatment.
