Research at Trent University is getting a major boost thanks to some funding from the federal government.
Peterborough-Kawartha MP Maryam Monsef announced today the school will be getting $2.4 million in funding to support ongoing research.
The funding is part of the more than $558 million in Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada grants.
One of the scientists receiving money is Dr. Christina Davy.
President, Dr. Leo Groarke, says this NSERC funding helps emphasize a long-standing leadership in the environment and supports Trents emerging strengths in health sciences and agriculture.
