The Peterborough Petes will kick off the 2026-27 Ontario Hockey League season on home ice when they host the Kingston Frontenacs on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The OHL announced the season-opening matchup on Tuesday, with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The game will mark the start of a new campaign for the Petes and renew one of the league’s longstanding Eastern Conference rivalries.
Fans can already secure seats for the home opener through season ticket and group ticket packages. The club says season ticket packages, which include all 34 regular-season home games, start at less than $460.
The season-opening announcement comes as attention also turns to this weekend’s OHL Priority Selection. The 2026 draft will be held at Slush Puppie Place, with the first round beginning Friday evening and rounds two through 15 taking place Saturday.
Peterborough currently holds the 13th overall selection in the first round.
The Petes are expected to announce additional details regarding their 2026-27 schedule as the season approaches.
