Construction is officially underway on the new community centre at Lansdowne and Park streets.
A special groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday, marking the start of construction on the centre which will include a new twin-pad and a public library branch. It will also include an indoor walking track and multi-use space, is being built on the west side of Morrow Park.
Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2024.
Mayor Jeff Leal says infrastructure such as this new hub for recreational activities will become part of the life of the residents of our community while also supporting economic activity by attracting regional and provincial events that use our sports facilities.

Ball Construction is the lead construction firm on the $65.5-million project.
