Selwyn Township has received $100,000 from Regional Tourism Organization 8 through FedDev Ontario to attract visitors and support future growth.
The money will be used in the downtown core of the Village of Lakefield, and will help with replacement of neglected, aged, and cracked interlocking brickwork with stamped concrete, and the installation of metal art banners on streetlights along Queen Street.
Officials say by enhancing the public realm and creating a welcoming and positive guest experience, this project will provide a significant boost to the tourism sector throughout the region by encouraging visitors to explore other communities in the area.
This is part of the Government of Canada’s Tourism Relief Fund.
