Peterborough city council was officially sworn in at a ceremony at The Mount.
Mayor Jeff Leal gave his inaugural address and spoke about some of his priorities, including the need to invest in infrastructure.
Leal spent nearly 20 years on council from 1985-2003 before being elected as MPP.
Back for a fourth term representing Otonabee Ward is Lesley Parnell. Parnell says with budget decisions coming quickly, she has her eyes on a few projects.
In Monaghan Ward, Don Vassiliadis is entering his third term and says he’s excited about the mix of people on council for the next four years.
Council will hold its first meetings sitting as Finance Committee and General Committee on Monday.
