After months of anticipation, it is finally here.
A virtual celebration is planned for tomorrow night to mark the 30th anniversary of Dr. Roberta Bondar’s trip to space.
Chair of the Roberta Bondar Foundation, Bonnie Patterson, says there will be a lot of space talk of course but also about her work on Earth.
While in space, Dr. Bondar conducted more than 40 experiments on behalf of scientists from 14 different countries in NASA’s first International Microgravity Lab — the precursor to today’s International Space Station.
It was also that eight-day journey aboard NASA’s shuttle that inspired the Foundation to be dedicated to connecting people to the natural world, inspiring curiosity, respect and conservation of the environment while building healthier lives.
The virtual evening will include Dr. Bondar, as well as many great Canadian entertainers, leaders and luminaries. Guests include Anne Murray, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Susan Aglukark, Hayley Wickenheiser and David Saint-Jacques.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite with options for General Admission or a VIP Package with access to an exclusive live Q+A with Dr. Bondar.
